Down memory lane...
When i saw Alesia's post on cekodok (cucur ikan bilis), it brought back instant memories of my mom making those for us for teatime on a school-going day.
It was the highlight of the afternoon. She was always clever in whipping things up in a jiffy in the kitchen with whatever she found on hand. And the cekodok was one of it.
This is my own version of comfort food.. it really holds a special place in my heart as it reminds me of my mom's love... the many hard years she went through to raise us up, the sacrifices she made and her unconditional love for us... and constantly making sure we never go hungry!
Before she was diagnosed with her condition, i fondly remember her cooking the bestest mee siam i've ever tasted with all the accompanying condiments she made from scratch (till this day, i have yet to taste mee siam as good as that).
Special thanks to Alesia for allowing me to share this photo and more importantly for helping bring back those sweet memories.
To whip us this delectable savoury fritters, check out www.alesiathehomecook.blogspot.com for her simple to understand step-by-step tutorial and while you're at it, this stay home mom has other recipes that's bound to tantalize your tastebuds... oh yes and her food shots are really good, you're bound to leave her blog hungry... don't say i didn't warn you!
