Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess

we were invited to attend a special screening of Disney Junior's latest animated television movie SOFIA the FIRST: Once upon a Princess.

hosted at GSC Signature, Mid Valley, seats were spacious & comfortable, and in my opinion, ideal if you have kids in tow.

it was the little princess' first visit to the movies. i was a bit apprehensive bringing her along. she hasn't mastered the art of sitting through shows but she clearly enjoyed HER box of popcorn more than anything else... noticed i said HER box because she didn't allow anyone to touch it. there were generous amount of popcorns by our seats (gulp) and she couldn't see any reasons to share.

back to the movie, Sofia's royal adventure begins as she prepares to move into the castle with her mom, starting a new family with her step-father, King Roland II, & step siblings, Amber & James. Sofia soon discovers that looking like a princess isn't all that difficult, but displaying honesty, loyalty, courage, independence, compassion and grace is what makes one truly loyal.

my nieces & the little mr enjoyed the movie & the experience. the movie was different than the typical princess fairytale, think damsel-in-distress-meets-prince-charming-marries-lives-happily-ever-after, you know what i mean.

what my sis & i liked about the movie was the positive message & life lessons that the movie communicated. that night, it gave me & luke things to talk about.. we spoke about him entering primary one next year, how not to be afraid in a new environment, conquering new skills and particularly, what it takes to forgive & reach out to others who have wronged you.

Sofia the First is an enchanting, music-filled animated Disney Junior television movie for the whole family.

You can catch it on Sunday, May 19 @ 11:00am on Disney Channel (ASTRO Channel 615) & Monday, May 27 @ 1:00pm on Disney Junior (Astro Channel 613).

The TV series will premier in July 2013!
